Annual Holiday Painting: 2020

This year, I painted the iconic holiday plant, the Poinsettia. These plants are one of the most popular flowers associated with the Holiday Season. Their botanical name, “Euphorbia Pulcherrima,” means “very beautiful.” The red, white, or pink blooms are modified leaves called bracts. The flowers are the yellow bloom found in the center of the bracts. Since these flowers are small, they can often be missed by a viewer; therefore, I was able to highlight them in my close-up creation.
